Sunday morning. Well, Saturday night was...what’s the antithesis of exciting?...boring? worse than that. I called Karla and we bemoaned the fact—for two hours—that we were two intelligent women stuck at home on Saturday nights, and what was up with that? But I woke up this morning remembering that Bunny and I are riding bikes over to Harris Neck Wildlife Refuge. It’ll probably be a 10-mile ride, and I haven’t ridden a bike for any distance since I was pregnant with Kelly, so that makes it 20-plus years. We’ll see how it goes. This idea might yet be another one that sounds good till I actually try to do it, but at least the weather’s cooperating today—61 and sunny! Hurray!
Later--Bunny and I did go riding, but only to Belvedere. Still, it was a good six miles or so, and afterword I walked Daisy to the mailboxes and back. She so looks forward to those trips, and I need the exercise. Or maybe I'm projecting and the poor dog just puts up with me. Hard to tell! At Belvedere, we came across a house with this beautiful orange tree out front, and got nervy and rang the bell. The teenage kid let us pick an orange each--how could he live there and not pick them all?--and we've saved the seeds. Bunny's got a green thumb and will plant them. Keep your fingers crossed!
Coming back, I stopped at Bunny's for a glass of wine. The topics, as topics do, wandered toward politics and religion. Ooops. Strong opinions were shared, but I think we'll veer away from such things in the future. Why is it all my good friends are Republicans? Ah well, they're still nice people.
Time to get back to the Historical Dictionary of the Coptic Church.
