Catching up...

Last week was very long. It hasn't quite ended yet, and this is too late for me to be up writing on a Tuesday evening. Working backwards, let's see what I've been up to:

Just had dinner with Kelly, dropping her off back at school in Chapel Hill. A very nice time with her!

Came from the bike shop, where I exchanged a mirror for a softer seat. Can't wait to try it, riding with Ann down in Georgia.

Had a good session with Claudia. She remarked on how I seemed more collected after time away from work, and spent with Ann.

I finally got the photo-archives working again on my server. Piecing the new server together has been very satisfying. It now hosts an updated web, an updated jabber-server, an updated music server, and a new web for Kelly's bead-works jewelry business, although she hasn't moved into the space yet. Cool! That was around 4pm, today.

Prior to that I was flying back from Georgia, departing there around 1:30pm.

I had lunch with Ann and her friends, Bunny and Jeff.

Ann and I puttered this morning. I emptied boxes of old clothes to send off to GoodWill, and cleaned up a fireplace ornamental candle-stand.

Yesterday, Ann and I hosted friends for "dessert". We spent the afternoon riding bikes. I still ache. That morning was desk time, and bike fixing time.

The evening before I flew down with the last fading rays of the day, landing just as night fell. Ann waved her little flashlight for me from the end of the runway. That was Sunday.

Earlier that day, as I drove up from work (yes, work!), I stopped to buy bicycle tires, tubes, a helmet, and a new mirror for Ann's bike. It set me back almost three times what I paid for my first 10-speed. Wow.

I arose at 6am to work my first FULL Sunday with SaltMIne-Plus. What they call patient friendly hours.

Oh, yes, and I worked a full Saturday, too. My co-workers and I are generally appalled. This coming week, I work Saturday, too. The job really sucks.
